A feature shown on a global Coolray page is not proof that it is fitted, enabled or correctly calibrated on an export candidate.
Define the decision
Current Geely New Coolray material describes functions including lane keeping assistance, blind spot detection and adaptive cruise control, and also discusses six airbags. Official regional launch material lists different combinations and explicitly notes that specifications vary by region. Build the candidate requirement from the destination and trim evidence rather than copying a global feature list. For urban use, verify parking-camera images and sensor alerts separately from the wider driver-assistance specification.
Evidence to collect
Photograph the steering-wheel controls, instrument menus, windscreen camera area, radar or sensor locations and airbag markings. Scan the relevant control modules, record software versions and warning history, then demonstrate each required function in safe conditions. Review windscreen, bumper, suspension and alignment repairs that could require calibration.
Risk and export exposure
A visible camera does not prove lane assistance; a dashboard menu does not prove the hardware is present. Replaced glass, bumper paint, collision repair, wheel alignment or an unsupported regional map can affect operation. Driver assistance remains an aid and does not transfer driving responsibility.
Apply it to a candidate
Write required, preferred and irrelevant features before viewing cars. Reject substitutions that remove a destination-critical safety item. For a repaired used vehicle, require calibration evidence or budget a competent destination check before assigning value to the function. Calibration decisions should include verified wheel, tyre and pressure-monitoring condition.
Build the VIN record
Create a dated folder named by VIN. Record market and trim evidence, airbag configuration, camera and radar hardware with source documents, photographs, diagnostic output or inspection results. Keep diagnostic warning history, repair and calibration record, safe function demonstration as named actions until the responsible reviewer closes them. A replacement vehicle starts a new file rather than inheriting another candidate's evidence.
Independent review
Assign each field to a reviewer with the relevant competence. Technical, legal, shipping and destination questions should not be answered by one general seller statement. If records conflict, preserve both versions and request the exact document, test or image that resolves the difference before payment.
Commercial hold points
Connect payment to evidence. Confirm identity before reservation, condition before final technical acceptance, contract wording before a major transfer and loading condition before handover. A changed VIN, beneficiary, delivery point or accepted exception reopens the relevant approval gate.
Arrival and ownership control
Freeze the odometer, warning state, keys, accessories, body condition and unresolved exceptions before loading. Compare the arrival vehicle with that record before cleaning or repair. Preserve evidence for claims and give the destination workshop the exact version, service and diagnostic baseline.
Use dated evidence rather than model reputation
A general Coolray or Binyue statement can help form a question, but it cannot approve market and trim evidence, airbag configuration, camera and radar hardware on a specific vehicle. Link every material conclusion to the VIN and record whether it came from an official market source, legal document, physical label, inspection, diagnostic scan or seller representation. Sources with different authority should not be treated as equal.
Keep commercial acceptance separate
Technical approval says what the vehicle is and what condition evidence supports. Commercial acceptance says whether the price, included work, payment schedule and delivery boundary are acceptable. Close both records before shipment. A price concession can compensate for an understood repair or missing accessory; it cannot prove identity, legality or safety.
Write the approval result
Finish with pass, hold or reject. A hold must name the missing evidence, owner and deadline. Approval means the buyer understands the remaining limits; it does not turn an unknown into a confirmed feature or remove destination responsibility.
Record the evidence date and the person who reviewed it. If a candidate changes, repeat the affected checks instead of carrying an earlier approval to another VIN, model year or seller.
Verify Geely Coolray ADAS and Safety Equipment: checklist
Mark every item confirmed, unresolved or rejected and link its evidence to the candidate VIN.
- Market and trim evidence
- Airbag configuration
- Camera and radar hardware
- Diagnostic warning history
- Repair and calibration record
- Safe function demonstration
Primary manufacturer references
Use these sources for context only; the candidate remains market-, year-, trim- and VIN-specific.
Geely New Coolray official model page ↗Treat each safety function as a candidate-level claim
Match hardware, menus, diagnostics and repair history before a safe demonstration. Start with market and trim identification, use the whole-vehicle inspection to find collision or glass work, and include calibration-capable support in the ownership plan.
Buyer questions
Does every Coolray have adaptive cruise control?
No. Equipment varies by market, trim and model year.
Can a warning-free dashboard prove ADAS works?
No. Check hardware, diagnostics, calibration history and safe functional operation.
Why does windscreen replacement matter?
A camera-equipped system may require correct installation and calibration after glass work.
